Block charge flop no call #ourdecision

A few days ago we had a nice clip that most of you seemed to agree on. By popular demand our decision on the play.

As you can see the contact does not occur on the torso, but on the side of the defender. The defender is on the spot first and in time: before the offensive player starts his jump. The shooter is the one responsable for changing distance between both players. As defense is steady, in legal guarding position and on time on the spot we rule out a blocking foul.

The contact between the players makes them both fall down. We think they both are trying to make the refs call in their favour. So a warning for flopping can be handed out to them both. As the offensive player is the one responsable for altering the distance between the two players, we are calling a push off. Good call refs!
