Gameflow and call the foul versus no call

We know a lot of our followers like to talk about ‘gameflow’.  Some of them consider it a carte blanche to swallow their whistles on plays. Only a few will say the flow of the game is decided by swift actions of the referees upon calling. Quick administration of the fouls and a speedy restart of the game after the foul. If you take such things into account you can very much change the feeling of the game. And you’ll make life easier on yourself: if the game resumes fast, there’s no time for jibber jabber.
That being said: we are not advocating you call every contact. We urge you to grasp the essential facts of a play, and then make your decision. As in the clip that follows: Are you going for a no-call of a personal foul??? Please elaborate on how you reached that call. Lees verder “Gameflow and call the foul versus no call”

Don’t you just hate it?

Don’t you just hate it?? You’re doing great in a game, having fun and all the right angles on the plays you’re supposed to cover, but out of bounds situations seem to keep on causing turmoil. We suggest you talk about a help system in your pregame, and above all: don’t be too hasty. Sometimes the team that caused the ball to go out of bounds already goes back to play defense. Easy option out: give them to the team that is waiting for you to give them the ball :). Any more tips besides practicing (like with the clips on here?) ?? We love to read about them in our forum, so feel free to share. And while we’re at it: in the clip below the ball goes out. Who’s entitled two the trow-in?

IOT FUNDAMENTALS

Individual Officiating Techniques (IOT) is the most important foundation for either 2 Person Officiating (2PO) or 3 Person Officiating (3PO). It is evident that in the past 15 years there has been a heavy focus
on 3PO (namely for the mechanical movements of the referees on the floor). This has led to a lack of knowledge in how to actually referee individual play phases in the game – this being the fundamental
skills that referees need to possess in order to process and facilitate the correct decision. These are inherent skills of IOT and are similarly relevant to both 2PO and 3PO. Lees verder “IOT FUNDAMENTALS”

What is your call?

We hope everybody is at least working towards some preseason games for a lot of us have had an extensive period of inactivity. One of the things we strongly suggest is #cliptime to make yourself ready for the new season. Check clips, see what happens, play it over and over again and learn what is happening and why the refs in the clip are making the call. And decide for yourself: is that the correct call?? Cause as we always say: if you cannot explain it, don’t call it!
