Advantage/disadvantage
The video we found and embedded in this article might be a dangerous one. The rules of our sport are clear so it’s just a matter of observing what happens right? Well. Guess again. Nobody comes to the gym to hear a bunch of zebra’s blow their instruments more often than the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. You have to be smart in what to call, and consistent. We strongly and firmly believe that covering your violations will make life much easier on you and your crew. That is nót an invitation to be triggerhappy and shoot on everything that looks like a violation. Check the video and take some time to contemplate on how you call your violations and fouls. The difference between Goaltending and Interference
Off course: preseason ruletests are pretty far away. It’s only April and all our minds are probably still subconsciously awaiting playoff nominations, but you can never know a rule too good. Therefor a little question: Can you tell us the difference between goaltending and interference from the top of your mind? If not, check this video. Wyatt Anders, thanks for notifying us! What will you call?
We love the shirts in the following clip, here at Officiating’s Cool Headquarters. And to be honest we love the clip too because it’s bound to cause some intense debate too we think. What will you call and why??? Unsportsmanlike or Regular personal foul? Lees verder “What will you call?”

Not feeling like diving in the OBRI now the sun is coming out and you have time off?? Then it’s good that people like Referee University on youtube exist. U fouls with examples
Let’s try and use this time away from court to good use. One of the things we like doing is getting back over the rules. And one of the things people still ask questions about is the U foul. Changed some two or three seasons ago and still often people are surprised if you call it according to the instructions FIBA issued. We found a nice vid we’d like to share. Take special notice to the examples!! Grabbing a players uniform or bodyparts is an unsportsmanlike foul people! Let’s not try to handle it otherwise. Lees verder “U fouls with examples”
